Before You Buy: Nike Air Max 270
With all the energy around Air Max Day (Month) the Nike Air Max 270 was introduced ahead of the Nike Holiday. With the intro "quickstrike" release out of the way, this past week saw the model hit mall outlets, generally available to anyone willing to fork up $150. While the design is inspired by the Air Max 93 and 180 models, I can't help thinking the shoe looks like a Nike Air Max Thea with a colossal air unit on the back.
Taking commentary from my recent Instagram Post, it seems the main criticism is over how the model will be continued to roll out. As with most initially exciting Nike releases, (Jordan Future, Nike Roshe Run, Nike Vapormax), it seems the Air Max 270 will be on track for a new colorway release a week. Release fatigue aside, the model is one of my favorite introductions of the year, and the focus on lifestyle comfort over performance makes it clear Nike understands what the casual consumer wants.
